The Dutch supermarket chain Ekoplaza launched the world’s first plastic-free aisle in one of its Amsterdam stores last Wednesday. Fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy and other products are packaged wrapped in compostable biomaterials or come in alternatives like glass, metal and cardboard. Grocery stores in Amsterdam, Vancouver, Totnes (U.K.), Berlin, Austin, and other cities are making similar moves toward zero waste. Way to go.
