Ford now sends 8.6 pounds of waste per vehicle to landfills as opposed to the 85 pounds it sent in 2007. Andy Hobbs, Ford’s director of environmental quality said that less waste is less expensive and helps lower the price of cars. These companies are demonstrating that focusing on waste-reduction efforts is both economically and environmentally friendly.
