On Tuesday, McDonald’s announced plans to make all of its consumer packaging out of renewable, recyclable and certified materials within seven years. It also will add recycling bins to all of its stores. McDonald’s plans to eliminate foam packaging from its global system by the end of 2018. 2% of their packaging, by weight, is currently foam and this phaseout is one initiative of multiple that the global food giant has been taking to be more environmentally friendly.
